Troubleshooting Checklists

Load Cell / Force Sensor

  1. 1Verify excitation voltage matches sensor specification (typically 5–10 VDC)
  2. 2Check bridge resistance at zero load — should match datasheet nominal value
  3. 3Inspect wiring for shielding breaks or ground loops
  4. 4Confirm mechanical coupling is rigid with no side-loading
  5. 5Test with a known calibration weight to verify span

Pressure Sensor

  1. 1Confirm sensor pressure range matches your application
  2. 2Check for trapped air in the pressure port or sensing cavity
  3. 3Verify supply voltage and signal output wiring polarity
  4. 4Ensure the sensor is not exposed to pressures beyond its rated overpressure
  5. 5Zero the output at atmospheric reference before applying process pressure

Bubble / Flow Sensor

  1. 1Confirm tubing OD and wall thickness match sensor specification
  2. 2Ensure sensor is fully clamped and perpendicular to tubing axis
  3. 3Remove air from fluid path before zeroing flow reading
  4. 4Check for acoustic coupling issues — use ultrasonic couplant if required
  5. 5Verify sensor power supply meets minimum voltage requirements

Temperature Sensor

  1. 1Verify sensor type (RTD, thermocouple, thermistor) matches signal conditioner
  2. 2Check thermal contact — ensure sensor tip is in firm contact with measurement surface
  3. 3Inspect lead resistance — use 3-wire or 4-wire configuration for long cable runs
  4. 4Allow adequate thermal equilibration time before recording readings
